Christopher Leach, originally from Brighton (UK), lives and works in Vienna since 1998. In his most recent works, he focuses mainly on portraying expressive faces, while his realistic style is characterized by the creation of strong contrasts combined with powerful brushstrokes.

His pencil drawings are of particular intensity. In them, the roles of the observer and the contemplated appear to turn. The observer becomes the contemplated himself. Leach alludes with it to the increasingly diminishing privacy in the smartphone society, the constant viewing and observing in the social media.

In a further creative period, he is working on the skyline of Vienna from a variety of perspectives. In an expressionist style, he experiments with self-made rubber gum spatulas. In these works, he creates an intimate, almost silent atmosphere that is in contrast to the hectic and vibrant metropolis.

We cordially invite you to the Vernissage of Christopher Leach Cityscapes, Portraits on Thursday, October 12th at 7 pm in our showroom.

RSVP until Tuesday 10.10.2107.
